Created to pass on Afro-Latino musical traditions directly from cultural elders and masters to Milwaukee cultural arts educators and the greater community through oral and cultural praxis, Learning From the Masters brings master artists-in-residence from the African Diaspora to Milwaukee for 8-10 week residencies.
Learning from the Masters is supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Wisconsin Humanities strengthens the roots of community life through educational and cultural programs that inspire civic participation and individual imagination.
