Join us for community workshops with Bembé's "Learning from the Masters" artist-in-residence, Alberto "Beto" Torrens! Beto is a master percussionist, performer and cultural educator based out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Created to pass on Afro-Latino musical traditions directly from cultural elders through oral and cultural praxis, Learning From the Masters brings master artists-in-residence from the African Diaspora to Milwaukee for short and long-term residencies, offering community practice and in-depth learning.
